We all love a good night out, but sometimes we feel the need to stay in and relax at home. Some people like to watch films when their at home and other like to play games. Bingo is a perfect pastime for these situations which has been used for centuries and shows no signs of stopping soon. The way that it can be tailored to suit any crowd or situation gives it the versatility that makes it such a success.
We recently published an article about the social benefits of using 123 Bingo’s new social platform to promote relationships, communication and sharing amongst players. This definitely helps create more of a bingo community online, but the social value is nothing in comparison to playing live with a group of friends.
Picking a Date
You need to make sure you can get the necessary number of players to attend to make the game work. For this reason, put a bit of time and planning into finding out when is most convenient for your potential guests to play. A Sunday night after a tiring weekend might be a good idea.
Getting Enough Numbers
It makes sense to invite a couple more people than the number you think is the optimal amount for your bingo night. The reason for this is that, even if some people don’t turn up, you will have an adequate number of players. It is better to have too many than too few in bingo, so invite some extras to be on the safe side.

The Versatility of Bingo
One of the best things about bingo is that you can make what you want of it. It could be completely free or you could splash out. Make a decision as to what sort of bingo night it will be to tell you guests. It will help them decide whether to bring food, drinks or alcohol etc. If it’s at the end of a heavy weekend, you might ask guests to bring healthy snacks and soft drinks.
Prepare
As the host, it is your job to ensure you have all the required items for the game: balls, cards, a marker pen, and a vessel in which to house the balls. These things aren’t particularly costly to come by. You must also think about what prize, if any, will be awarded to the winner. Confer with the other guests and make a decision. If you don’t want to play for money, try playing for chocolate or a bottle of wine.
